What do you fish for?
We catch king salmon, coho salmon, lake trout, brown trout, rainbow trout (steelhead), and more! We may be a little biased, but our salmon and trout fishing charters are among the best in Michigan. Check out our gallery to check out our latest catch!
What time of year do you fish?
Our ships are the first in the water and the last out! The typical season is May to October. June, July and August book up fast, so book your trip in advance! Click here for contact info and for booking.
What if I don’t have six people in my party?
Rates apply whether you have 1-6 members in your party. If you have more than six people, we can accommodate with another boat.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes. You can buy a 24-hour fishing license here or purchase a license at The Fish Hook in Leland prior to your trip.
What methods of payment are available?
Cash and check are preferred. If necessary, we can process a credit card upon request. If you feel your captain did an exceptional job, it is appropriate to tip as you feel fit. Don't forget to leave a review as well! Find us on TripAdvisor, Yelp, Facebook or Google.
Is a deposit required to reserve the charter?
We do not require a deposit to reserve your trip. However, if you need to cancel, we appreciate advance notice in order to re-fill the spot. Cancellations within 24-hours will result in a 50% charge of the original trip price.
What should/can we bring?
We recommend you bring warm clothing and layers, sunglasses, sunscreen, a camera, snacks and any drinks of your choice. Alcoholic beverages are permitted. You will also want a cooler to transport your filleted catch home. Forgot a sweatshirt or need a souvenir? Visit The Leland Harbor House or Tug Stuff! Stop by the Leland Merc for snacks, beverages and a foam cooler. Pick up a famous sandwich to-go from the Village Cheese Shanty located just down the dock. Fishing licenses and other gear can be purchased at The Fish Hook.
Do you fillet our fish?
The historic Carlson’s Fishery of Fishtown, just down the dock from our slips, will fillet and prepare your fish for you. The cost is $3/fish. You can take your fish home to cook up with a favorite recipe OR take your fresh fillets to one of Leland’s acclaimed restaurants to be prepared for you! We recommend The Leland Lodge and The Cove.
