Our 1st Annual Local Business Fishing Tournament has come to a close, and it was packed with excitement, big fish, and HEAT right to the very end. Yesterday, Mariah and Pier Pressure Charter Fishing took part in the annual Jim Fohle Memorial fishing trip. About 70 local veterans met their captains in historic Fishtown to board one of the many charter fishing boats that are part of the renowned Leland fleet, then set out on beautiful Lake Michigan for a fishing trip of a lifetime. While the vets were out reeling in lake trout and enjoying the afternoon, volunteers were back in the Leland harbor prepping for the fish fry dinner that takes place upon the boats' return. MPP Charters is honored to be a part of this event each year and to have the chance to recognize these honorable men and women for the service they have given to our country. You can find the full story coverage at UpNorthLive!
Captain Bob and Captain Wes took out the crew from The Homestead Resort earlier this week for our annual Lake Michigan charter fishing trip. Our captains put them on some giant Lake Michigan lake trout and came in with a limit catch. Next time you are planning a stay at The Homestead or a Northern Michigan vacation, make sure to check out charter fishing boats near you and consider a trip with Mariah and Pier Pressure Charter Fishing. If you are looking for other activities to complete your visit to the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula, visit our resource page! Thank you again to our friends at The Homestead Resort! Fish On!
Every year, Traverse Magazine announces their "Red Hot Best" of Northern Michigan. From people, to places and things to do in our beloved area, the public votes on their favorites and the winners are announced in the June issue of the magazine. We are so excited (but not surprised!) that our very own Captain Wes was given an award in the category for "Best Charter Fishing Boat Captain" in this year's contest! Thank you to all of our loyal followers for voting and for your ongoing support! Now, who wants to go fishing with the best captain on Lake Michigan?!
After a long winter, the lake trout were hungry and biting! This group of bachelors limited out this morning with a whopping 24 fish and, apparently, 1 monkey. Charter fishing is a great activity for a bachelor party, corporate outing or family adventure. To catch a memory (and a lot of fish!) book your trip with Mariah and Pier Pressure Charter Fishing today!
In case you haven't heard, MPP Charters has a new first mate for the upcoming fishing season! Captain Wes and wife, Sarah, welcomed their son, Bodin Robert Smith, on January 19, 2019. Captain Wes and Captain/Grandpa Bob were excited to finally take Bodie out on the Pier Pressure for his very first trip on Lake Michigan!
